| 詳 細 | As per the title, the action is punctuated by bursts of static while fighting. It seems to occur when sound effect samples are played. To be more specific, it usually occurs when a character's attack hits the opponent. Samples usually (though not always) seem to play fine when the attacks don't connect, however there are also occasions where the game will start playing a sequence of samples non-stop rather than just one, almost like cycling through a sound test. I'm aware that the game is listed as not working due to the copy protection issue. I'm assuming that this issue is not related. I don't know whether it's related but I've noticed that sampled effects in some other Neo Geo CD games can sound abnormally crunchy/noisy to my ears, though they're not outright bursts of static. The King of Fighters '98 is one such game. | ||||
| 再現手順 | Start the game, select a character and opponent (I tested with Terry vs Bob), do some attacks that hit the opponent when the fight starts. Alternatively, let the demo play until a fight starts. For full disclosure if it's relevant, I start the system empty and load the cue file through the menu. I've tested on a raw image and one with the copy protection hacked out, the result is the same with both. | ||||
